EFFECTS OF 2-{4-(2-IMIDAZO[l,2-a]PYRIDYL)PHENYL} PROPIONIC ACID (Y-9213) ON IN VIVO RELEASE OF LYSOSOMAL ENZYMES FROM RAT POLYMORPHONUCLEAR LEUKOCYTES DURING PHAGOCYTOSIS OF PARTICLES

On the other hand, in the exudate obtained 5 hr after the injection of the irritant without zymosan particles, the ratio of that of aryl sulfatase was reported to be 10-15 % of the total activity (11). In addition, therapeutic treatment of the peritonitic rats with anti-inflammatory drugs such as indomethacin inhibited significantly not only increased vascular permeability and leukocyte emigration, but also elevation of the free activity and its ratio of lysosomal enzymes in the exudate (11). Recently, 2-{4-(2 imidazo[l,2-a]pyridyl)phenyl} propionic acid (Y-9213) was found by Muro et al to have analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory activities (12).…”

“…Αυτή η διαφορά μεταξύ των δύο ομάδων δεν ήταν στατιστικά σημαντική. Έχει βρεθεί, σε in vitro και in vivo πειράματα (Goto et al, 1976;Rivkin et al, 1976) ότι το ibuprofen μπορεί να περιορίσει μερικώς τη "μετανάστευση" των WBC στην περιοχή της βλάβης εμποδίζοντας έτσι έμμεσα την επέκταση της φλεγμονής. Αν πραγματικά το ibuprofen έχει τέτοια επίδραση, τότε στα άτομα που είχαν πάρει το φάρμακο τα επίπεδα των WBC θα έπρεπε να ήταν περισσότερο αυξημένα (24 και 48 ώρες μετά την άσκηση) εξαιτίας της περιορισμένης μετανάστευσης των WBC.…”
