Effects of the different synthetic parameters on the crystallinity and crystal size of nanosized ZSM-5 zeoliteAbstract: This review aims at investigating the effect of the different synthetic parameters on the crystallinity and crystal size of nanosized ZSM-5 zeolite. The influence of the different parameters, such as the material of the synthesis source, the material ratio to each other, crystallization time and temperature, aging time and temperature, microwave treatment, seeding, and sonication, on the size of the final product is studied and the reason for each phenomenon is explained.

Selective catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxide with ammonia in the presence of excessive oxygen was investigated on transition metal oxides' catalysts (V, Cr, Mn, Fe) supported on HZSM-5. Meanwhile, catalyst V/ZSM-5 and Fe/ZSM-5 have shown the most activity and the conversion percentage of nitrogen oxides to nitrogen is more than 97% at temperatures above 300 °C, in these two catalysts. All synthesized catalysts possessed a good stability. Analytical characterization of synthesized catalysts were conducted by different methods of temperature programmed reduction, absorption and desorption of nitrogen, temperature programmed desorption of ammonia, X-ray diffraction and diffuse reflectance UV-vis spectroscopy. The less the apparent activation energy is, the more their activity will be. Thus, the Cr/ZSM-5 and V/ZSM-5 catalysts showed the lowest and highest performance in this process, respectively.

A B S T R A C TRemoval of nickel ions from aqueous solutions using modified ZSM-5 nanozeolites was investigated. Experiments were conducted in terms of different solute concentrations, temperatures, and pH. Mesoporous Na-ZSM-5 zeolite was modified with tetrapropylammonium bromide (TPABr) and sodium dodecylsulfate (SDS) by using the impregnation method. The modified zeolites were characterized by X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, Brunauer-Emmett-Teller, and scanning electron microscope techniques. According to the results, SDS-ZSM-5 revealed a higher adsorption capacity than Na-ZSM-5 and TPA-ZSM-5. Langmuir and Freundlich adsorption models were used for the mathematical description of the adsorption equilibrium. The analyses revealed that the sorption of Ni(II) could be considered an endothermic and spontaneous process.
