Abstract:Fe-Ni and Fe-Ni-Gd films are studied by high voltage Lorentz microscopy in varying in-plane applied magnetic fields. Pilms evaporated a t small angles of incidence contained magnetization ripple, low-angle Bloch walls, 180" cross-tie wa11s, and in some areas gradually varying magnetization directions. The behaviour of the cross-tie walls in applied fields, particularly the creation and annihilation of cross-ties and Bloch lines, enables the structure of the walls to be determined in more detail than before. scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
