Ethnomedicinal knowledge of traditional healers on medicinal plants in Sukoharjo District, Central Java, Indonesia. Biodiversitas 24: 4223-4234. Indonesia is blessed with the world's largest biological diversity, reflected in the tens of thousands of species of plants that occur in Indonesia. This privilege benefits the community by using it in everyday life, including in the health sector. Medicinal plants have various benefits, such as relieving cough, fever, wounds, and other body system problems. Sukoharjo District, Central Java, Indonesia, is known as a center of traditional herbal medicine (Jamu), and the people in this district have used medicinal plants in the traditional medicine practiced by various healers or shamans. However, this local wisdom has not been documented scientifically. This study aims to collect data on ethnomedicinal knowledge of traditional healers in Sukoharjo and relevant information regarding medicinal plants used by them, including the taste of the plant. The method used in this research was a combination of direct observation, field notes, and in-depth interviews with several traditional healers. The study documented that 75 species of medicinal plants belonged to 41 families dominated by the Zingiberaceae family. Most of the plant parts of the medicinal plants used are the leaf, mostly consumed by boiling, resulting in a bitter taste drink. Common diseases to cure with traditional medicinal plants include coughs, fever, flatulence, diarrhea, diabetes, menstrual pain, flu, toothache, and ulcers. The findings of this study highlight that even though modern medicine is available, people still trust traditional healers and utilize medicinal plants, which are important for preserving ethnomedicinal knowledge in a region.

Studi etnomedisin digunakan untuk mendokumentasikan pemanfaatan tumbuhan sebagai bahan obat oleh etnis tertentu. Pasien patah tulang pada masyarakat etnis Ngadha masih melakukan pengobatan dengan melibatkan penyehat tradisional dan menggunakan ramuan yang terbuat dari tumbuhan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis tumbuhan, sumber pengetahuan, sumber dan bagian tumbuhan, pengolahan, penggunaan dan lama waktu yang digunakan dalam pengobatan tradisional patah tulang bagi masyarakat etnis Ngadha. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dan kuantitatif dengan cluster random sampling menggunakan teknik wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Penyehat tradisional yang menjadi responden dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 7 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan jenis tumbuhan yang digunakan dalam pengobatan tradisional patah tulang etnis Ngadha sejumlah 17 jenis, yaitu: pucuk daun kemiri, pucuk daun waru, bawang putih, daun asam berduri, bluntas, kumis kucing, damar merah, damar hijau, damar cina, kunyit putih, temulawak biru, temulawak kuning, kunyit hutan, bawang merah, kemiri, jahe, dan beras merah yang tergolong ke dalam 9 famili dengan Zingiberaceae sebagai famili yang paling dominan digunakan. Sumber pengetahuan para penyehat patah tulang diperoleh secara turun temurun dan melalui ilham/mimpi. Tumbuhan yang dijadikan obat patah tulang bersumber dari perkarangan rumah, kebun, hutan, dan pasar. Bagian tumbuhan yang digunakan adalah daun, rimpang, umbi dan biji yang selanjutnya diolah dengan cara ditumbuk, direbus, diblender, dan dikukus. Cara yang paling lazim digunakan dalam pengobatan patah tulang adalah dibalur dan dikompres. Penyembuhan patah tulang menggunakan bantuan penyehat tradisional di etnis Ngadha membutuhkan waktu 1-2 bulan, 2 bulan yang disesuaikan dengan usia pasien dan kondisi patah tulang yang dialami.

Indonesia has one of the greatest quantities of biodiversity in the world, which is utilized by industries such as medicines as a source of raw materials. As is the case with the inhabitants of Pasie Jambu Village, Kaway XVI Subdistrict, West Aceh Regency, medicinal plants contain substances that can be used to treat diseases of the human body or organs. The research aims to determine which plant parts are utilized by village communities, as well as the manner in which those parts are processed. Precisely on purpose, the snowball method was implemented. The findings derived from the interviews indicated that the inhabitants of Pasie Jambu Village utilized a total of 34 different plants. At 62%, the leaves are the most widely utilized part of the plant; at 3%, the roots, skin, and tubers are the least utilized. These plants are subjected to various processing methods, including boiling, pounding, smearing, and wiping. Among these, pounding is frequently employed at a rate of 52%, while chewing accounts for at least 3%
