<table width="593" border="1" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"><tbody><tr><td valign="top" width="387"><p>This research aimed at reviewing the barriers in EFL online learning experienced by learners in some countries like Indonesia, Saudi Arabian, Algeria, Jordan, and Ecuador during online learning gained from the research articles. This research was described descriptively with qualitative approach. The data being investigated in this research were five research articles from different researchers in different countries where they conducted research about barriers of EFL online learning during Covid-10 outbreak viewed from learners’ experiences. The results of this research showed that those five countries faced similar barriers in EFL online learning during Covid-19 outbreak. They were technical matter (internet connectivity) and social matter (passive interaction among teachers and learners). The conclusion stated that possible infrastructure for supporting high speed access internet should be considered by the policymakers in each country providing both technical and economic support to access it easily. Thus, for those who have barriers related to social matter, it was important for EFL teachers to create a strategy that made the class interactive and interesting as well as motivated the EFL learners interested to learn. Internal motivation from the EFL learners and teachers themselves to accommodate online learning creatively was needed. </p><p> </p></td></tr></tbody></table>

Over the last decade, online learning has grown significantly as the internet and education have merged to provide people with the possibility to learn new skills. Since the COVID-19 outbreak, online learning, or studying at home has become more centric in people's lives. The pandemic has caused schools, universities, and businesses to operate remotely, which has increased the use of online learning. Foreign language learning is also no exception. The purpose of this survey is to find out how students feel about learning from home. This research is based on Alderfer's ERG theory, which proposes three sets of essential needs: existence (E), relatedness (R), and growth (G). A quantitative survey which consists of four sections with 30 items and a 5-point Likert scale was employed. The survey had 109 responses. Findings revealed that learners feel a sense of existence, relatedness, and growth during studying from home. The learners also agreed that the advantages of learning from home outweigh the disadvantages.

Penelitian ini termotivasi dari hasil observasi awal di sekolah yang menunjukkan adanya dampak dari study from home terhadap kemampuan matematis siswa, khususnya terhadap pemahaman konsep matematika siswa pada materi persamaan garis lurus. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak dari study from home. Dampak study from home yang diteliti difokuskan pada pemahaman konsep matematika siswa SMP kelas VIII di salah satu sekolah di Kabupaten Karawang. Pendekatan yang digunakan yaitu pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode survei. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara dilakukan agar hasil penelitian dapat dideskripsikan dengan jelas dan rinci. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya dampak negatif yang dialami oleh siswa saat study from home. Dampak negatif ini tidak terlepas dari kendala saat pelaksanaan study from home, sehingga mengakibatkan kurangnya pemahaman siswa terhadap konsep matematika. This study was motivated by the initial observation result at school, which showed the impact of study from home on students' mathematical competencies, especially students' understanding of the mathematical concept. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the impact of studying from home on understanding the mathematical concepts of junior high students of the VIII grade in Karawang. The approach used is a qualitative approach with a survey method. The data collection technique was conducted by interviews and addressed to describe and interpret the results clearly and elaborate. The results showed a negative impact undergone by students when studying from home. This negative impact can not be separated from the constraints during the study from home implementation, implying a lack of student understanding of the mathematical concept.
