The research objective of this tracer study master's degree in educational administration is as an effort to see the progress of university transformation (UHAMKA) regarding the relevance of knowledge and skills acquired while criticizing higher education which is beneficial to society in general and its recognition, and as an evaluation material for decision making. The research methodology is a mix method that combines qualitative and quantitative forms. The model used is Sequential Explanatory, which means the collection and analysis of quantitative data is followed by the collection and analysis of qualitative data by calculating the frequency distribution of each indicator. Quantitative data collection was carried out by survey techniques, using qualitative descriptive and distributing questionnaires to 24 respondents. The findings show that the provision of competency for graduates can be relied upon by emphasizing the effectiveness of higher education in providing quality education and education services, which is shown by the recognition of the society for graduates who are able to change the order of life with noble character that is desired by society in general.

PurposeThis paper aims to identify internship factors and their roles in obtaining employment, establishing relationships among them using interpretive structural modeling (ISM).Design/methodology/approachBased on the literature review of more than 100 studies (1982–2020), 11 internship factors were identified. This was followed by the application of ISM technique to get insights into how these factors affect employability.FindingsISM technique and empirical research aided in classifying the factors on their driving and dependence power. Further analysis identified contextual relationships between all factors and how these affect each other.Research limitations/implicationsThis study will be helpful for educators, students and managers to understand how internship affects employability through understanding of the factors and their relations.Originality/valueThis study is the first study presenting a holistic view of internship factors and how their relationships affect employability in the emerging market perspective of Jordan.

International internships and skill development: A systematic review

An increasing number of students complete an internship during their higher education studies in a country different from that of their home institution. A main advantage of this type of mobility is that it responds to employers' need for graduates with both hands‐on experience and global skills. In this paper, we attempt to review existing research on the types of skills higher education students gain through their participation in international internships. While there are several systematic reviews on study abroad programmes, this is, to the best of our knowledge, the first focusing on internship programmes abroad. Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta‐Analyses (PRISMA) approaches were used to explore four electronic databases (Scopus, Google Scholar, ScienceDirect and Resources Information Center). From these, 31 relevant studies were identified, and data were examined using a combination of thematic and content analysis. Intrapersonal skills (e.g., open mindedness, self‐confidence) are found to be the most frequently cited skills learned by participants. Many of the reviewed studies also report learning gains in terms of practical knowledge and language proficiency. On the other hand, there is less evidence suggesting that international internships enhance cognitive skills and leadership skills. The large majority of the reviewed studies, however, have methodological problems. A future research agenda is outlined, along with suggestions for improving the research methodology.
