Structure of chlorine isotopes populated by heavy ion transfer reactions

Abstract: Neutron-rich chlorine isotopes were populated in the 40 Ar + 208 Pb multiple transfer reaction via the −1p channels in a fragment-γ coincident measurement employing the Prisma-Clara setup. New γ transitions have been identified and, together with already available data, level schemes have been revised and compared with the results of large-scale sd-pf shell-model calculations. The evolution of the energy splitting between the s 1/2 and d 3/2 orbitals and the increased mixing of different proton configurations … Show more

“…Since no spin-parity measurement could be performed, only the absolute value | | was determined. For 41 Cl, a small value | | = 129.7 keV was found in in-beam studies using deep-inelastic scattering [20][21][22], and is consistent with shell-model calculations. β-decay data [23] were inconclusive on the spin assignment.…”

“…Based on the γ rays observed in our measurement, and the assignments found in evaluated data compilations of levels properties for 89 Zr [28], 90 Zr [29], 91 Zr [30], 92 Zr [31], 93 Zr [32] and 94 Zr [33] level schemes have been constructed and updated. In some cases the additional informations were obtained from more recent measurements.…”

“…The level spectroscopy properties are from the data compilation in Ref. [28]. The γ -ray line at 587.8 keV, denoted by a dashed line, decays from the long-lived (T 1/2 = 4.2 min) 1/2 − state, and thus cannot be observed in our experiment.…”
