“…To our knowledge, organically templated nickel phosphate has not yet been discovered. In the past decade, the nonaqueous techniques and the #uoride method have been used successfully for the synthesis of ultralarge pore molecular sieves JDF-20 (19) and cloverite (20), and other known or novel 1-D, 2-D, and 3-D structural materials (21). Therefore, solvothermal synthesis has proved to be an exciting and promising method to prepare materials with new structures (22).…”

“…The use of enthanolamine as a template has led to the formation of open-framework AlAsO -1 and AlPO -JDF which are isostructural with each other (25,26). Both monoalcohols and diols have been used as the solvent for the formation of aluminophosphates containing a template that is normally an amine or amine-containing metal complex (6,8). It is easily inferred that molecules that can function as both solvent and template for the crystallization of aluminophosphates should possess both hydroxyl and amino groups, and isopropanolamine is one of the ideal candidates.…”

“…These materials, which include the layered aluminophosphates with Al/P ratios of 4/5 (3), 3/4 (4, 5), 2/3 (6), and 1/2 (7) and the open-framework compounds JDF-20 (8) with Al/P"5/6 and AlPO-HAD (9) with Al/P"4/5, exhibit distinct stoichiometries. Without exception, all these aluminophosphates crystallize in the presence of a solvent and an organic template which are di!erent species.…”

“…[89] Large single crystals of zeolites can often be obtained from organic solutions since the crystallization rate in these solutions is slower than in water. Dozens of large single crystals have been prepared by this method, including silica-sodalite, [72] Si-ZSM-48, [74] AlPO 4 -CI, [78] AlPO 4 -CA, [78] AlPO 4 -CC, [33] AlPO 4 -F, [33] AlPO 4 -H, [33] AlPO 4 -B, [33] GaPO 4 -C3, [33] gallophosphate-LTA, [90] ZnPO 4 , [91] CoPO 4 -n (n = 1 to 3), [91] JDF-20, [33,34] cancrinite, [76] and cloverite. [33] In an acidic medium, a couple of M III X V O 4 species have been grown into large single crystals.…”

“…[68,69] In 1985, Bibby and Dale [70] first reported the synthesis of pure-silica sodalite using non-aqueous solvents. The following years saw the synthesis of dozens of microporous materials from non-aqueous systems by R. Xu and co-workers, [71] such as silica-sodalite [72] , pentasil-type silica zeolites [73±75] , cancrinite [76] , AlPO 4 -n [77,78] , JDF-20, [33,34] cloverite, and GaPO 4 -n. [37,38] More recently, Xiao et al [79±84] at Jilin University and Xie et al [83] at Beijing University have developed a new method for the preparation of zeolite catalysts with high metal loading. Figure 5 shows a series of XRD patterns of CuCl 2 ×2H 2 O/NaZSM-5 samples before and after heating.…”
