Structure modeling in three-dimensional simulation of weft-knitted seamless kneepads

Abstract: This paper proposes a simulation method suitable for weft-knitted seamless kneepads. The purpose of this study is to realize the simulation of complete weft-knitted products, and it has the advantage of speed to display the simulation results online in real-time. The loop of the basic loop model is controlled by up to eight characteristic points and the yarn path is fitted by a three-dimensional spline curve. To string the loop model into the fabric, the coordinate of the characteristic point of the loop at ot… Show more

“…Te fabric surface is subdivided quadrilaterals on a simple cylindrical surface, and then the loop model is constructed by the vertex of the grid to achieve the modeling and simulation of the simple tubular weft knitted fabric. Tree-dimensional modeling can be achieved by designing surface division for more complex surfaces [20]. However, these models do not take into account the dynamic efect of weft knitted fabrics; hence, they do not have the efect of dynamic simulation.…”

“…Our funding comes from a project on 3D imitation and the full forming of knitted fabrics. In the previous research, 14 we proposed a 3D simulation method suitable for seamless weft-knitted kneepads and realized the simulation of complete weft-knitted products. In this study, as the textile engineer, we studied the virtual display effect of simulated kneepads worn on human legs, taking into account the deformation of the loop.…”
