At depth, the Gunnison thrust translated Cambrian rocks over Middle Jurassic strata, accompanied by frontal back-thrusting, development of the Sanpete Valley antiform (Figure 1), and growth of the Late Campanian-Maastrichtian Axhandle wedge-top basin (Lawton & Trexler, 1991;Lawton et al, 1993;Talling et al, 1994).
