The lake water is acidic and brownish in color due to high amount of humic substances derived from a tropical bog, with the pH ranging from 3.9 to 4.6 (Ohtaka et al 2014). The lake is 3-6 m deep, the bottom temperature ranged from 27 to 29°C and the concentration of dissolved oxygen in the bottom waters ranged from 0.7 to 1.1 mg l −1 (Ohtaka et al 2014).…”
