Structural transformations in a single‐crystal Rb2NaYF6: Raman scattering study

Abstract: This paper reports Raman spectroscopy investigation of phase transitions in Rb2NaYF6 crystal. The experimental spectra were compared with the calculated one. The spectra were obtained in temperature range from 8 to 300 K. The Raman spectra shows anomalous temperature‐dependent behavior at T1 = 154 and T2 = 122 K. Soft mode restoration has been found, which allows us to attribute first transition at 154 K to displacive type. Detailed analysis temperature dependencies of the line positions and widths have been p… Show more

“…The atomic vibration values were obtained using the modified random-element-isodisplacement model [63]. Previously, the optimized version of the model was tested for several compounds [64][65][66]. The model parameters obtained for CaGd 2 (WO 4 ) 4 are shown in Table 4.…”

“…Theoretical calculations performed in [10][11] made it possible to estimate the value of the rotation angle of octahedra and present the pattern of their distortions. Simultaneously and independent of us the authors [12] studied the undoped Rb 2 NaYF 6 crystal by Raman spectroscopy and hydrostatic pressure, and established that the PT from the cubic into the disordered phase accompanied by the recovery of the soft mode occurs in it at Т = 154 K.…”
