“…The existence of the vibrations of SiO 4 and ZnO 4 groups being evidence of the formation of the Zn 2 SiO 4 phase [47][48][49]. The vibrational band observed at 1110 cm −1 ascribed to the Si-O-Si asymmetric stretching vibrations [15,20]. From the Figures 3 and 4, it is found that the increment in the absorption peak intensity at 580 cm −1 which implied the enhancement of ZnO 4 group unit by replacing the Si atoms [48].…”

“…Several studies have been reported on the fabrication of ZnO/Zn 2 SiO 4 . The solid-state reaction had been used to fabricate ZnO/Zn 2 SiO 4 [20] with the fabricated sample showed broader visible range emissions compared to Zn 2 SiO 4 and ZnO. Fabrication of ZnO/Zn 2 SiO 4 doped Eu 3+ by sol-gel spin coating technique has also been reported [21].…”

“…The presence of a single band at 552 cm −1 (sample W1) and 548 cm −1 (sample W2), as well as bands in the range 600-625 cm −1 , is disputable and not completely defined. Based on willemite IR spectroscopy results, we can assume that these bands could be assigned to symmetric stretching υ 1 (~550 cm −1 ) and asymmetric stretching υ 3 vibrations of ZnO 4 [43,45,52]. According to Griffith's work [53], band ~550 cm −1 can also be related to asymmetric bending vibrations, where υ 4 was at 542 cm −1 [53], but in present work, this band is shifted to the higher wavenumbers.…”

“…Numerous computational and experimental methods have been implemented to investigate surface defects, surface interactions, binding between organic molecules and the surface, and structural properties of nanomaterials such as gold nanoparticles [ 18 ], CoBr 2 nanolayers [ 19 ], CdO and ZnO [ 20 ] metal oxides and SnO 2 /CdO, ITO and Zn 2 SiO 4 /ZnO nanocomposites [ 21 , 22 , 23 , 24 ]. Due to experimental limitations, it is difficult to analyze the interaction of organic molecules and surfaces at the molecular level.…”
