“…Based on this, and the results of a previous X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) study that revealed the coexistence of Co 2+ and Co 3+ on the surface of Co-doped TiO 2 NPs [25], and by comparing the cationic radius values of Co 2+ (0.74 Å), Co 3+ (0.61 Å), Fe 2+ (0.76 Å), and Fe 3+ (0.65 Å) to that of Ti 4+ (0.68 Å) [25,28,30,31,32], we hypothesize that some of the doping elements were incorporated into the structures of Titania and replaced the titanium ions, which induced a perturbation in anatase crystal structure; as a result, the crystallinity decreased and the peak position shifted. A similar behavior was reported in the literature [15,28,32,33].…”

“…The Raman modes shifted towards longer wavenumber side and the peaks intensity decrease whereas width increases because of the lattice distortion and presence of defect levels. The phonon lifetime of the metal ion‐doped titania films is estimated using the uncertainty relation 20 . The estimated phonon lifetimes for the T2, F7, C7, N7, and A7 films are 4.71 × 10 −13 , 3.032 × 10 −13 , 3.467 × 10 −13 , 3.197 × 10 −13 and 2.219 × 10 −13 s, respectively.…”

“…Furthermore, for the charge reoccurrence for electroneutrality in metal ion‐doped TiO 2 , O 2− can easily escape to trap photoinduced holes (Equation ) and generate hydroxide radicals (Equation ). Metal ions can act as photoinduced hole trappers (Equation ) 20,62–66 . The generated hydroxide radicals (OH˙) (Equations , and ) have a more oxidation power and can depollute the organic pollutants thoroughly (Equation ).…”
