Abstract:Tetrahydrofolate and its derivatives participate in one-carbon transfer reactions in all organisms. The cellular form of tetrahydrofolate (THF) is modified by multiple glutamate residues and polyglutamylation plays a key role in organellar and cellular folate homeostasis.
