Structural, electrical conductance and complex impedance analysis of (Nd1−xCex)0.7Sr0.3MnO3 (0≤x≤0.20) perovskite

Abstract: International audiencePolycrystalline samples of (Nd1−xCex)0.7Sr0.3MnO3 (x=0, 0.10 and 0.20) were prepared by a high-temperature solid-state reaction technique. The X-ray diffraction study has shown that all the samples exhibit a single phase with orthorhombic structure (space group Pnma). From the resistivity data, it is found that all the samples show metal to semiconductor transition and the transition temperature decreases with the Ce doping. The complex impedance has been investigated in the temperature r… Show more

“…4a. This figure proves that the sample experienced a metal-semiconductor (MS) transition at TMS = 240 K. Similar transitions from the conductivity curves were observed in other works [33][34][35][36][37]. In addition, all the s-values are greater than unity.…”

“…In contrast, these values decrease with temperature, above T MS , which indicates the presence of thermally activated conduction mechanism in this system which is similar to a semiconducting behavior. Such behavior has been reported in other ceramics [37,38]. In the other hand, the obtained R g and R gb values are lower for x = 0 than for x = 0.1 which makes the La 0.6 Pr 0.1 Ba 0.3 Mn 0.9 Ni 0.1 O 3 sample lesser conductor as compared with La 0.6 Pr 0.1 Ba 0.3 MnO 3 sample.…”

“…The Rp and R Wp factors displayed much higher values than expected, which is accounted for in terms of the peaks with small intensities [21]. The difference between the tted and experimental intensities of the re ection peaks may be assigned to preferred orientation effects [23,24]. The re ection peaks were crystallized in the monoclinic system with P2/m space group.…”
