Structural, elastic and thermo-physical properties of Er2O3 nanoparticles doped bio-silicate borotellurite glasses

Abstract: This paper presents a study on the structural, morphological and elastic properties of erbium oxide nanoparticles doped bio-silicate borotellurite glass system fabricated using the technique of melt-quenching with chemical compositional formula {[(TeO 2 ) 0.7 (B 2 O 3 ) 0.3 ] 0.8 (SiO 2 ) 0.2 } 1−y (Er 2 O 3 NPs) y where 0.01 ≤ y ≤ 0.05. The objective of the work was to study the some elastic and thermal parameters associated with non-destructive ultrasonic technique, with the aim of utilizing the glasses for … Show more

“…The observed shift in the band position from lower to higher wavenumbers in the glass matrix was related to the changes in the glass network structure [22]. There is generally a correlation between the absorption band range and emission frequency of TeO3 trigonal pyramids (tp) [6].…”

“…Over time, many research studies have explored the impact of various rare-earth dopants on the physical characteristics of tellurite glass with different compositions. As an illustration, in the research conducted by Umar et al, [6]. I produced a set of glass samples by employing the conventional melt-quenching technique.…”

“…Data obtained from the Rocherulle model showed a very much closer relation to the data obtained from the experimental assessment compared to the bond compression model. The increase in the elastic moduli is generally associated with increased rigidity and network connectivity [43,44].…”

“…It is well known that tellurite glasses possess a low melting point and the absence of hygroscopic properties [25,26]. Thus, it is useful to search for new reproducible routes for synthesis in order to extend their applications.…”
