Abstract

Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) has become a solid alternative to surgical aortic valve replacement (SAVR) for the treatment of severe symptomatic aortic stenosis in patients across the entire risk spectrum. [1][2][3][4][5] Although the clinical outcomes of TAVR valves have been favorable with large multicenter trials showing no inferiority, and even superiority of TAVR versus SAVR 6,7 , the lingering question about the long-term durability of TAVR valves is still unanswered.
