Abstract:The article examines the functioning of toponymic vocabulary in the historical novel by the Tatar writer Vahit Imamov “Kazan Fortress”. The structural and word formative types of toponymic units are identified. According to their structure, they are classified into derivative and non-derivative, simple and compound ones.
