Structural and Parametric Optimization of S–CO2 Nuclear Power Plants

Abstract: The transition to the use of supercritical carbon dioxide as a working fluid for power generation units will significantly reduce the equipment′s overall dimensions while increasing fuel efficiency and environmental safety. Structural and parametric optimization of S–CO2 nuclear power plants was carried out to ensure the maximum efficiency of electricity production. Based on the results of mathematical modeling, it was found that the transition to a carbon dioxide working fluid for the nuclear power plant with… Show more

“…At a pressure ratio of 1.5, there is a monotonous rise in efficiency while there is a drop for a pressure ratio of 2. Rogalev et al [24] observed a maximum efficiency at a recompression ratio of around 0.35 for a fixed pressure ratio. Opposite trends can be noticed.…”

“…To design a boiler structure, it is necessary to give a mathematical description of the fluidized or fluidized bed [12]. Fluidization is the process of transition of a layer of granular, finely dispersed material into a fluidized layer under the influence of a fluidizing gas flow, as well as other physical and mechanical influences.…”

“…These features are necessary advantages for the future utilizing vehicles such as flying cars and interstellar spacecraft. Multiple availabilities of many power sources like nuclear power [1][2][3], solar power generation [4,5], gas turbines [6,7], and fuel cells [8][9][10] were frequently proposed dealing with S-CO 2 system in recent years.…”
