“…The Fe 50 Pt 50 alloy with an ordered L1 0 (FePt) phase has recently attracted interest among researchers with the prospect of increasing the density of magnetic recording and information storage [1][2][3][4][5]. Experts suggest that magnetic data carriers of new generation will be designed by 2035-2040 and will allow the maximum possible density of magnetic recording and information storage (~10 Tbit/in 2 ).…”

“…In this process, phase formation occurs via the movement of grain boundaries as a result of grain boundary diffusion, leaving behind an area of reacted product [21]. Furthermore, introduction of additional intermediate layers into Pt/Fe stacks could modify significantly the phase transition temperatures [20,[22][23][24], the sequence of structural transitions that occur upon annealing [25], or even induce metastable phases [26]. In this regard, Mn is an interesting element to be used as an additional layer in Fe/Pt stacks since it could form various binary and ternary phases in this system and strongly affect the magnetic properties due to antiferromagnetic coupling between Fe and Mn magnetic moments.…”
