“…Shinde et al prepared Cd 2 Si 2 O 7 :Ce nanophosphors with a triclinic crystal structure utilizing reactive gels of metal nitrates, glycine, and silica. 587 It was shown that gels ignited at 580 °C yield amorphous materials, which could be crystallized during the calcination stage at 1000 °C for 2 h. However, pure phase product could only be obtained at 1200 °C. The authors also outline that the solid-state synthesis of Cd 2 Si 2 O 7 :Ce phosphors can be only achieved during 20 h heating of the simple oxide mixture at 1400 °C.…”

“…7(a), curve 4) the PL spectrum exhibits a broad emission in the 380-600 nm spectral range with its maxima at 400 nm and 420 nm specific for accommodation of Ce 3 þ in Ce1 sites in Y 2 SiO 5 host lattice. The broad nature of emission is the consequence of two electron transition in Ce 3 þ from 5 d level to the ground state levels ( 2 F 5/2 , 2 F 7/2 ) separated by 0.25 eV [48]. The emission intensity decreases significantly as the excitation wavelength decreases from 353 nm to 265 nm.…”
