There are many industrial waste products used in the construction industry like rice husk ash, fly ash phosphogypsum, marble powder, cenosphere, silica fume, copper slag, granulated blast furnace slag, etc. It is observed that the use of all waste materials is beneficial for improving the properties of cement concrete and also making a hunk of lightweight cement concrete. In that material, the cenosphere is the most economical material in the construction industry, so both waste materials are used in most of the experimental works. This review focuses on the concrete prepared by replacing cement and fine aggregate with the cenosphere at various percentages for the preparation of lightweight cement concrete. The usual way to use cenosphere is up to 30% replacement as fine aggregate or 20% replacement of cement gives good results. These reviews discuss the usability and extraction of cenosphere from fly ash, its properties, and applications. Also observed are the final optimum percentages for compressive strength, split tensile strength, and flexural strength for 7, 14, and 28 days.

Developments in the field of construction has taken an encompassing transformation in the design of structures. Concrete technology has also seen several advancements with the inclusion of reinforcement materials like steel and iron in them which are called as the (RC) Reinforced Concrete. Amidst several developments in the technology of the structural design for a quality construction, RC structural element failure under higher temperature with load remains as one of the most critical mechanisms to be addressed with the recent advancements. There are several methods and studies that try to rule out such failure mechanism with certain improvised methodologies in the fire resistivity behavior of concrete structures. Nevertheless, only a few studies have concentrated on the interaction between the structural and functional elements in the emergence of fire. Considering this, the present work concentrates on the behavior of RC infilled frames with elements like beam, column and beam column joints under higher temperatures and load for which the ABAQUS finite element software is used. The model is simulated with a transient state analysis and characteristics like deflection, stiffness, principal stress are studied for the RC beam, column and beam column joints with varied temperature and load. The outcome of the simulation shows the effect of load and temperature on RC elements and the respective performance graphs are plotted.

The authors present a refined method of determining the moment of cracking in reinforced concrete bar constructions using the diagram of deformation of concrete built on the basis of the deformation theory of plasticity by G.A. Geniev in which the stress and strain invariants of concrete are linked by nonlinear dependences. In the resulting defining equations, the hypothesis of flat sections, as well as the premise of reaching the limit values of concrete deformations on the stretched fibers of the cross-section are used. Stresses in concrete are determined through deformation values in accordance with the nonlinear deformation diagram of concrete. On the basis of the assumptions accepted, analytical dependences for determining the moment of cracking in the sections of bending elements with single and double reinforcement have been acquired. The formulas obtained were used in the analysis of various factors influence on crack resistance of bendable reinforced concrete elements. It was found out that the moment of crack formation practically does not change when percentage of reinforcement of longitudinal tensile or compressed reinforcement changes. The most effective method of crack resistance improvement is the increase of concrete strength. The proposed methodology is verified by comparison with experimental results on reinforced concrete prototypes. It is concluded that the use of the diagram of nonlinear deformation of concrete on the basis of the theory of plasticity by G.A. Geniev allows to estimate more strictly the crack resistance of reinforced concrete rod elements.
