Strongyloidiasis Serological Analysis with Three Different Biological Probes and Their Electrochemical Responses in a Screen-Printed Gold Electrode

Abstract: (1) Background: The validation of biological antigens is the study’s utmost goal in biomedical applications. We evaluated three different probes with single and multiple epitopes through electrochemical detection of specific IgG in serum for human strongyloidiasis diagnosis. (2) Methods: Screen-printed gold electrodes were used and probes consisting of two single-epitope synthetic peptides (D3 and C10) with different sequences, and a multi-epitope antigen [detergent phase (DP)—hydrophobic membrane proteins]. H… Show more

“…The total power received from the deep core body tissue can be analyzed with the radiometric temperature of the antenna. The radiometric temperature of the antenna can be calculated using (1), where P is the total power received from the tissue, k is the Boltzmann constant and B is the bandwidth of the antenna.…”

“…Bioelectronic devices or biosensors are becoming increasingly important in the medical field. Moreover, bioelectronic devices or biosensors are used to detect diseases and monitor medical information [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8]. Among the important medical factors, body temperature is the most important indicator of health problems and is often used for early detection of health problems.…”

“…However, there was a report on electrochemical detection of strongyloidiasis with three different biomolecular probes using a screen-printed gold electrode (SPGE). 39 They used a detergent phase (DP) multi-epitope proteins extracted from S. venezuelensis, and two mono-epitope peptides (C10 and D3) immobilized on the electrode surfaces. Then, the immunorecognition probes were used to detect specific Strongyloides IgG in serum.…”

“…Melo et al. utilizes the screen printed gold electrode to evaluate the electrochemical efficacies of three different biological probes for Strongyloidiasis serological analysis [60]. The monooepitopic or multiepitopic antigen probes were immobilized by covalent linking and the immobilization and immune complex formation was evaluated by cyclic voltammetry in supporting electrolyte without any label.…”
