Stress-Strain Characteristics of Reactive Powder Concrete Under Cyclic Loading

Abstract: Reactive powder concrete (RPC) is a type of ultra-high strength cement composite material. It has advanced mechanical properties and shows high ductility characteristics. Many researches have shown that normal and high strength concrete fails under cyclic stresses at load level below its static capacity. In the present study, the mix design guidelines to produce high strength RPC is provided. RPC with compressive strength of 120, 130 and 140MPa was produced. The mechanical properties are obtained for hardened c… Show more

“…The mixing ratio of Portland cement and sand is 1:5. Four rebars were used with a length of 140 mm and a diameter of 8 mm, and the position of the rebars is 40 mm apart and 10 mm deep in the concrete [23][24][25].…”

“…In contrast to the the dynamic loading, which effects on beam velocity and acceleration so all items in the equation will be considered. But in the case of repeated load, and since the load is too slow, the inertia effect ignored (has no effect on the mass) (16)(17)(18). The study investegated the behaviour of Geopolymer beams under the effect of fatiage loading.…”

“…RPC beams subjected to harmonic loads exhibit favorable characteristics such as high strength, durability, stiffness, crack control, and damping properties. These properties make RPC beams a promising choice for structures that experience cyclic loading, such as bridges, offshore platforms, and high-rise buildings [13,14]. Many researchers have studied the effect of harmonic loading on beams of different material types (concrete, steel, and composite).…”
