Stress Rupture Test Rig Design for Evaluating Ceramic Material Specimens

Abstract: A simple flexural stress rupture test rig has been designed, constructed and operated successfully in evaluating high-temperature (≥1200°C) time-dependent strength of ceramic materials. The test rig is capable of applying stresses up to ∼700 MPa and at temperatures as high as 1400°C in air.
