The present study is aimed to study stress factors and its association with workplace violence against nurses. The study included 100 samples of nurses in the AL Imam AL-Sadiq Hospital in Babil Governorate-Iraq.The outcomes of the current researchdisplaythat the plurality of the participants were females (60%) and married (66%).The prevalent of nurses are worked in Emergency unit (62% ) females and (44%) males respectively,most of them were in the day shift and years of experience (< 5).The malonaldehyde level (MDA) is significantly different amongthe men and women at <0.05. The outcomesdisplay that the greatest stress iscaused by psychological or physical violence in the workplace (90%), lack of personnel (88%)working with difficult patients (85%), a high frequency of patients (77%), and Work matching their abilities (74%).The factors that caused moderate stress by working nights (39%), dealing with death (32%), their working hours (29%) and relationships between management and employees (28%). The factors that caused minor stress by relationships among co-workers (12%) and lack of training (10%). There were significant differences between women and men in the factors of dealing with death (P≤ 0.005), psychological or physical violence in the workplace (P≤0.039),working nights (P≤0.0116) working hours (P≤0.0297) and relationships among co-workers (P≤0.0054)and women were more effected than they men.As a result of the high levels of mononaldehyde that associated with work pressure, it has been shown to be more frequent among married nurses and employees in the emergency unit.

Uvod: Vest je večdimenzionalni koncept, zaradi katerega se medicinska sestra more zavedati manj kakovostne oskrbe bolnika in lastnih omejitev. Delovanje v nasprotju z lastno vestjo lahko vodi v izgorelost. Namen raziskave je bil prikazati povezanost bremena vesti in izgorelosti med zaposlenimi v intenzivni zdravstveni negi.Metode: Izvedena je bila presečna raziskava na priložnostnem vzorcu 46 medicinskih sester. Uporabljen je bil vprašalnik Stress of Conscience (slovensko »Slaba vest«). Vprašalnik je pokazal visoko notranjo skladnost (Cronbach α = 0,875). Podatki so bili zbrani v decembru 2017 in obdelani s programsko opremo IBM SPSS Statistics 23. Analizirani so bili z opisno in bivariatno statistiko. Uporabljeni so bili Fisherjev natančni test, T-test dveh neodvisnih vzorcev oziroma Mann-Whitneyev U-test ter enosmerna ANOVA.Rezultati: Starost in spol statistično značilno vplivata na breme vesti (p = 0,048 za starost oziroma p = 0,005 za spol). Statistično značilnih vplivov spola, starosti, trajanja zaposlitve ali izobrazbe na prisotnost števila simptomov izgorelosti raziskava ni pokazala. Z izgorelostjo je najbolj povezan (r = 0,503, p < 0,001) vpliv delovnega okolja na zasebno življenje.Diskusija in zaključek: Slaba vest je prisotna med medicinskimi sestrami v enotah intenzivne nege in terapije. Medicinskim sestram povzročajo slabo vest številni dejavniki. Raziskava je pokazala, da večje breme vesti povečuje število simptomov izgorelosti. Nadaljnje raziskovalno delo je smiselno usmeriti v zmanjševanje bremena vesti in izgorelosti.
