Strengths of gamma-ray transitions in A = 6–44 nuclei (III)

Abstract: The present tables list the strengths (in Weisskopf units) of over 2400 y-ray transitions in A = 6-44 nuclei, classified according to character (electric or magnetic, multipolarity, isospin forbiddenness). Selected transitions from unbound states are included. The strengths for isovector El and Ml transitions (El*" and Mlrv) show a marked decrease with A. Strengths depend very little on the excitation energy of the initial state. The new data incorporated in the tables have not given rise to changes in the rec… Show more

“…The observed branching ratios towards the 3/2 − and 5/2 − states were used to make estimates of the B(E1)-transition rates to these negative parity states, assuming a single-particle d 5/2 -g 9/2 E2 transition. The obtained B(E1) estimates are of the order of 10 −4 -10 −6 , which are typical values for this mass region [74].…”

“…The measured excited states are listed in Table III. The measured cross sections of the elastic α scattering relative to the Rutherford cross sections (Rutherford ratio) are presented in Figs we show only the cross sections to the excited states whose electromagnetic excitation strengths from the ground states were reported in the previous studies [24,[36][37][38].…”
