Strengthening of hollow spheres using combined method of hydraulic and thermal autofrettage
A. N. Prokudin
Abstract:The distributions of residual and working stresses in hollow spheres pre-strengthened using a combination of hydraulic and thermal autofrettage are investigated. The analysis is based on the theory of infinitesimal elastoplastic strains, the Tresca or von Mises yield condition, the associated flow rule and the linear isotropic hardening law. During unloading, the sphere material may exhibit the Bauschinger effect. All mechanical and thermophysical parameters are assumed to be independent of temperature. Exact … Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
