Strength Analysis and Assessment of Ina-TEWS Wave Glider

Abstract: Indonesia as a country that often experiences tsunami disasters needs to have an early warning system against tsunami disasters. This system can use various existing technologies, one of which is the tsunami buoy system. The new tsunami buoy system does not use the natural mooring system but uses the wave glider system. This paper discusses the structural strength of the surface floater of wave glider using Eva Foam and Fiberglass material for skin and Alluminium material for frame and kell. The surface floate… Show more

“…The glider section itself has been studied by [1] on a numerical glider floater system for foil configurations in determining the optimal dimensions of the Wave Glider design [1], but the study is based only on numerical simulation. In addition, it was also studied by [4] the structural strength of the surface floater of wave glider using Eva Foam and Fiberglass material for skin and Aluminum material for frame and kell [4], but it has not yet studied setting the Autonomous control system on the floater glider. Autonomous control system settings have been studied by [5] integrating APM (Ardupilot Mega) and mission planner applications in making the autonomous control system on the UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle), the use of GPS and compass in setting the control direction can operate properly [5], but the use of APM makes data processing slow so it is necessary to make changes in the main control with a more reliable system.…”
