For researchers in Islamic economics and finance, publishing a journal article is one of the prerequisites to enhance the discipline of Islamic economics and finance. However, to fill out the gap in current research in the field, a researcher has to review various peer-reviewed journals. This paper utilizes a bibliometric analysis through VOSviewer software to help a researcher visualizing the performance of the Islamic economics and finance journals and the researchers in the field as well as their topic of interest. This method enables a researcher with a self-developed approach in the data collection. The result of this study shows top-five Islamic economics and finance Indonesian journals, along with the ten most productive researchers. We believe there should be an improvement in the journal management and collaboration among researchers in Indonesia for the betterment of the journals in Islamic finance in the years to come.

This study aims to determine the development and trend map of the Zakat and Technology outbreak research that is published by reputable journals in the theme of Islamic economics and finance. The data analyzed were more than 440 publications of indexed research publications. The export data is then processed and analyzed using the R Biblioshiny application program to find out the bibliometric map of the development of the role of Islamic economics and finance in zakat and technology research. The results showed that the number of publications on the development of the role of Islamic economics and finance research experienced a significant increase. The results show that the highest number of document types are journaled articles. The most popular authors are Kuran T, and the most popular keyword topics are zakat, Islamic, and Indonesia.

Amil zakat merupakan unsur kunci dalam pengelolaan zakat yang efektif. Diperlukan penguatan peran dan fungsi amil zakat agar dapat mengoptimalkan pengelolaan zakat. Sehingga zakat yang dikelola secara profesional dan optimal akan memberikan dampak positif terhadap perekonomian. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan penekanan dan mengelaborasi peran dan kedudukan amil zakat, sehingga bisa dikuatkan secara kompetensi. Di samping itu, peran dan fungsi Pemerintah sebagai pihak pemegang kebijakan memiliki peran penting dalam mengembangkan pengelolaan zakat. Kajian ini dijabarkan secara kualitatif dengan menggali sumber data dan informasi sekunder. Data dianalisis dan dijabarkan secara deskriptif. Kajian ini menemukan bahwa peran dan fungsi amil zakat sangat penting dalam memajukan pengelolaan zakat. Pemerintah diharapkan turut memberikan andil lebih besar dalam pengelolaan zakat sebagai pemegang kuasa kebijakan. Kontribusi tersebut dilakukan dengan mendukung dan memberikan arahan dan kebijakan terkait penegasan pengelolaan zakat. Selain itu, amil zakat yang berkompeten dan profesional sangat berhubungan erat dengan program pendistribusian dan pendayagunaan zakat. Sehingga amil zakat yang profesional akan turut berkontribusi aktif dalam memajukan dan meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Secara umum, zakat yang dikelola secara optimal oleh amil zakat yang berkompeten akan turut berperan aktif dalam mewujudkan pertumbuhan ekonomi secara umum.
