Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality among individuals with type 1 diabetes (T1D), necessitating effective prevention strategies. This comprehensive review consolidates current knowledge and evidence on preventing CVD in T1D patients. It begins by exploring the pathophysiological mechanisms that link T1D to an increased risk of CVD, highlighting factors such as chronic hyperglycemia, hypertension, dyslipidemia, and inflammation.
