This research investigates the influence of the principal's leadership and teacher performance on the quality of education and the mediating role of TQM in this relationship. Random sampling techniques were used to sample 50 MA Darul Falah Sukorejo Ponorogo teachers. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire consisting of a 5-point Likert scale. PLS-SEM analysis was used to analyze data and test the conceptual model. The research results show that teacher performance significantly improves education quality but not principal leadership's influence. Apart from that, TQM mediates in increasing the influence of the principal's leadership on the quality of education (ρ=0.008) but not on the influence of teacher performance (ρ=0.703). The research implications emphasize the development of organizational culture supported by TQM and teacher professional training and development. So, building an organizational culture that supports TQM principles is essential. It involves a commitment from all levels of management, including principals and administrative staff, to prioritize educational quality and continuous improvement. Provide regular training to teachers on TQM concepts, practices, and strategies for implementing them in teaching and learning contexts.

Purpose: This article examined the attributes and actions of principals as instructional leaders in empowering School Management Teams (SMTs) in Schools. The focus will be on trying to answer the main research question: What are the attributes and actions that principals as instructional leaders should have in performing their obligations? Method: Data collection was done through a questionnaire, literature review, and interviews. A pilot study was initially conducted before the commencement of the study to validate the contents of the questionnaire. To ensure validity, triangulation was undertaken (literature review, the questionnaire, and the focus-group interviews). The sample consisted of 55 principals (n=55) of schools in the Tshwane-West District of Gauteng in South Africa. Data analysis was done thematically, and the narratives of respondents were examined. Additionally, field data was verbatim transcribed from voice tapes. The transcribed information was completed as soon as the interviews were conducted to prevent incorrect interpretation of crucial information from the recordings and focus group interviews. Findings: In empowering SMTs in schools attributes like communication skills; a clear vision of the future of the school; an attitude of self-confidence; focus on teaching and learning; tough feedback; courage to raise controversial issues. It was found that the principals lack assertiveness; are tolerant of mistakes, and are sympathetic to wrongdoers. Principals are reluctant to share power and practice distributed leadership. Implications for Research and Practice: Policymakers and schools will be able to review policies and practices to strengthen schools.

The objective of this research was to develop bilingual expressions pocketbook. This research used the type of research and development (RnD) that applied the ADDIE model, which employed five steps, including analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The product of the research was bilingual expressions pocketbook. The contents of the pocketbook consist of a cover, vocabularies of each topic, and the expressions of each topic. This research was conducted in ALC’s Secondary Students at Assalafiyah, which contained 27 students. In collecting data, the researchers employed some techniques like interviews, questionnaires, tests, and documentation. The result of this research showed that the validation result from the material expert was an average of 3.5. It was categorized as very good. The validation result from the media expert was average, which is 3.6. It was categorized as very good. Therefore, it can be concluded that developing bilingual expressions pocketbook is appropriate to be implemented at ALC. Also, the development of a bilingual expressions pocketbook for Secondary Students at Assalafiyah Language Center (ALC) holds significant promise for enhancing language learning and communication skills. The design phase focuses on creating clear and measurable learning objectives, selecting appropriate instructional strategies, and devising assessment methods that cater to the unique bilingual context. The pocketbook provided students with a handy reference for learning and practicing common bilingual expressions. Also, it can increase students’ motivation and engagement in learning vocabularies.
