Strategic Analysis for the Installation of Field Hospitals for COVID-19 Control: An Approach Based on P-Median Model

Abstract: Concerning the expansion of the coronavirus in the world, the search for the development of solutions related to the control and mitigation of the pandemic situation became constant. The paper addresses an analysis of localities for the installation of field hospitals, highly requested as a point of treatment for COVID-19. In this scenario, a framework based on the P-median approach and mathematical programming is proposed, enabling an optimization model as an analysis format for the problematic situation. “…This search resulted in a total of 10,473 publications in the field of self-report questionnaires for mental distress screening between 1970 and 2022, with an average of 239 publications per year. Although this brief analysis did not use advanced approaches, such as multi-criteria analysis, P-median model, or Promethee-Gaia method [ 18 , 19 , 20 ], the analysis revealed a gap in the literature regarding the screening of physical and behavioral symptoms in self-report questionnaires for mental distress, highlighting the need for more research in this area. Furthermore, some people deny any emotional or behavioral symptoms or do not readily express their emotional state in questionnaires.…”
