Reading interest is a national problem that needs to be paid attention to by the Indonesian government. Generation Z students are used to creating video content as a medium to get other people's attention or go viral. So far there has been no learning with digital media video content to foster students' interest in reading. This study aims to determine the effect of video content creation project learning on reading interest of generation Z in Bangkalan. This research used a mixed method type. The subjects of this study were students at SMAN 4 Bangkalan and SMKN 3 Bangkalan. Research data were obtained through reading interest questionnaires and structured interviews. The interest questionnaire was analyzed quantitatively descriptively using SPSS version 18 and the interview data was analyzed qualitatively. The results of this study indicate that the learning design of project learning with the assignment of video content has an effect on students' reading interest. The four aspects of interest in reading, whether reading pleasure, attention to reading, awareness of the benefits of reading, and reading frequency, have increased. The causes of an increase in reading interest in Generation Z students are having the character of responsibility, work ethic, being pragmatic, appreciating personal work, wanting to be the center of attention, being realistic, and wanting to be a useful person.
