Abstract:This paper describes the output performance of a strapped vane type 2.450 ± 0.030-GHz magnetron in the presence of a dielectric material. A 3-D particle in cell software computer simulation technology has been used for this study. The side resonators (cavities) of the magnetron are partially filled with a low-loss dielectric material (ε r = 11.7 and tanδ = 3.5 × 10 −6 ).
