Abstract:Isoprene rubber (IR) vulcanizates soften upon large‐amplitude oscillational shear and large‐strain cyclic tensile deformation. The mechanisms of these two strain softening behaviors remain unclarified and methods for reducing the accompanied mechanical dissipations are not well established. Herein IR/liquid isoprene rubber bimodal blends are cured into vulcanizates with similar cross‐linking densities. The results indicate that, in comparison with the pure IR network, the bimodal networks demonstrate lowered l… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
