Abstract:Specific features of the strain hardening and unstable (jump-like) deformation of the microgranular magnesium alloy AZ31 deformed by tension at a temperature of 4.2 K were studied. Non-monotonous dependence of the work hardening rate on deformation and small amplitude of jump-like deformation observed at small deformations of the polycrystalline sample annealed after equal channel pressing are considered to indicate the activation of twinning due to an increase in the grain size in annealing.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
