Straight and Branched Sucrose Monoamide Derivatives as New Surfactants
Abstract:Abstract:We have synthesized monoamide analogs of sucrose. The synthesis applied a multi steps synthesis scheme ended by Staudinger reaction based coupling of a sucrose azide with fatty acid chlorides. Sucrose monoamide surfactants are easily accessible surfactants from sucrose, which is consider as the cheapest natural carbohydrate resources. The assembly behavior of synthesized monoamide derivatives was investigated by optical polarizing microscopy, Differential scanning calorimetry DSC and surface tension s… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
