Abstract

The results of this study corroborate the value of ESWT for recalcitrant plantar fascitis. As a non invasive technique with low side effects, it can complement the row of conservative treatments.

Standard deviations were derived from the p value reported in one manuscript in order to incorporate a sixth trial in the meta-analysis, the timing of the outcomes varied between 17 and 20 weeks for this trial [21]. …”

“…All included adult patients only. The duration of pain was greater than 6 months in ten trials [11,12,21,22,27,28,30-33]. In one trial [10] the duration of pain was shorter than six months for some patients but no patient had a duration of pain less than 8 weeks.…”

Walking pain is a relevant outcome measure and was reported by eight trials [10,11,21,22,30,32,33].
