“…At BLCM, these parameters were 0.53 and 0.705, respectively. This is different from some other fish species in the VMD that are being overexploited, such as Glossogobius giuris ( Dinh, Phan & Tran, 2017 ), B. butis ( Dinh, 2018a ), S. pleurostigma ( Dinh & Nguyen, 2018 ), G. aureus ( Dinh, Tran & Tran, 2021d d), and G. sparsipapillus ( Nguyen et al, 2021 ).…”

“…From the yield curve converted from the length frequency, the total death coefficient (Z), the natural death coefficient (M), the logging death coefficient (F), and the extraction rate (E) of the G. aureus populations were 3.38/year, 1.16/year, 2.22/year and 0.66, respectively. Similarly, Z, M, F, and E of G. giuris populations were [45]) (the curves show the increase of fish length over time). 9 Biological Characteristics of Some Fish Species in the Mekong Delta, Vietnam DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.5772/intechopen.106647 3.17/year, 1.40/year, 1.77/year, and 0.56, respectively.…”

“…These parameters are used to assess the fishing status of the fish population (Amezcua et al, 2006 ), but the data on M. mysticetus populations along the Hau River, where they are fishing for food provision, is limited. Cai Rang, Can Tho (CRCT) has favorable climatic and hydrological conditions with fresh water all year round, whereas the Long Phu, Soc Trang (LPST) is affected by saline intrusion in the dry season (Nguyen et al, 2021 ). This phenomenon regulates the variation in population biological parameters of fish, for example, Glossogobius sparsipapillus exhibits significant differences in growth performance; longevity; total, natural, and fishing mortalities between CRCT and LPST (Nguyen et al, 2021 ).…”
