Stochastic model for electrical loads in Mediterranean residential buildings: Validation and applications

Abstract: A major issue in modelling the electrical load of residential building is reproducing the variability between dwellings due to the stochastic use of different electrical equipment. In that sense and with the objective to reproduce this variability, a stochastic model to obtain load profiles of household electricity is developed. The model is based on a probabilistic approach and is developed using data from the Mediterranean region of Spain. A detailed validation of the model has been done, analysing and compa… Show more

“…The characteristics of the appliances follows the characterization of an average household of a multifamily building in the Mediterranean region, which are detailed in [40]. The energy consumption profile of the appliances has been obtained through a stochastic model presented in [40]. Finally, one of the measures that have been considered in the study is the implementation of an awareness campaign in order to change the behaviour of the users and reduce their energy consumption.…”

“…A study of the consumption of electric appliances in domestic buildings was carried out to identify the trends in their energy use pattern [2]. The model developed was useful for simulating energy consumption for individual appliances.…”
