Abstract:There have been increasing interests in the development of theranostic agents, with both diagnostic and therapeutic components integrated into a single delivery system. Stimuli-responsive materials are ideal building blocks for the design and construction of smart theranostic systems with improved therapeutic and diagnostic functions against cancer and other diseases. This chapter will exclusively focus on the attempts towards the use of smart stimuli-responsive materials for developing theranostic systems.
