“…In this context, urea acts as an ammonia releasing reagent (ARR) with the aim of controlling the pH of the solution. Due to the choice of this synthetic approach, which leads to carbonate‐intercalated LDHs, a subsequent two steps anion exchange reactions are mandatory for the purpose of this work . Furthermore, a well‐defined hexagonal morphology Co : Al ratio of 4 : 1 was synthesized for the first time using urea, in stark contrast with previous studies .…”

“…The main objective was to check the possibility of grafting an APTES molecules to a different LDH composition, confirming the homogeneity in the metallic distribution on a micrometric particle. For the synthesis of the CoAl‐LDH family, we carried out an initial homogeneous coprecipitation approach, followed by successive anion exchange reactions to obtain the final CoAl‐APTES material . This can be easily achieved, given that Al 3+ ‐containing LDH are favored towards anion exchange reactions (see Supporting Information with the experimental details) .…”

[140,144,145] The insertion of such complexes generates specific difficulties due to their possible hydrolysis during the exchange reaction.…”
