Summarybackground In vitro, Trypanosoma cruzi invades a wide variety of mammalian cells by an unique process that is still poorly understood. Trypomastigotes adhere to specific receptors on the outer membrane of host cells before intracellular invasion, causing calcium ion mobilization and rearrangement of host cell microfilaments.objective To test if placental alkaline phosphatase (PLAP), a trophoblast plasma membrane protein anchored by a glycosylphosphatidylinositol molecule, is involved in the transplacental transmission of this parasite.method We cultured HEp2 cells with the parasite and studied PLAP and actin microfilaments. The results were correlated with invasion rate.

This study aimed to determine the profile of blood, metabolic enzymes and recovery of body weight in dairy cows fed diet supplemented with Heit-CHrose (Feed supplement containing saponins, allicin, organic mineral: Se, Cr, and Zn). The experiments were conducted with 4 treatments, R0 : control diet (CP 13,79% and TDN 67,2%), R1 : R0 supplemented with organic minerals (Cr 1,5 ppm; Se 0,3 ppm; Zn-Lyzinat 40 ppm), R2 : Ro supplemented with Heit-CHrose are given in the component feeding, and R3 : Ro supplemented with Heit-CHrose are given in total mixed ration (TMR). Data were tested using analysis of variance with a completely randomized design using four replications, and HSD test. The results showed that the supplementation of HeitCHrose to the diet of dairy cows gave significant effect (P <0.01) on blood glucose and recovery of body weight, but had no effect (P> 0.05) on hemoglobin, blood urea nitrogen (BUN), total protein and blood cholesterol and metabolic enzyme (alkali phospatase). Supplementation of Heit Chrose in dairy cows diet with component feeding and TMR increases blood glucose and recovery of body weight.Fakultas Peternakan, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman Corresponding author : caribu_prayitno@yahoo.co.id untuk pembentukan gas methan ke pembentukan propionat (Prayitno et al., 2013a). Pembentukan gas methan yang utama dalam rumen adalah melalui reduksi CO 2 oleh H 2 yang dikatalisis oleh enzim yang dihasilkan oleh bakteri Archeae (methanogen) (Miller, 1995). Berkurangnya populasi bakteri Archeae (pembentu methan) sebagai akibat adanya allisin menyebabkan pengalihan penggunaan H 2 Perubahan pola fermentasi di dalam rumen berdampak pada metabolisme nutrien di dalam hati. Asam propionat sangat penting untuk memelihara kadar glukosa darah. Lebih dari 30% asam propionat yang dihasilkan dalam rumen digunakan untuk sintesis glukosa (Riis, 1983). Prayitno et al. (2013a) menyatakan bahwa suplementasi saponin dari Sapindus rarak dan allicin dari bawang putih meningkatkan propionat. Diketahui bahwa mineral organik yang terkandung dalam HeitCHrose seperti Cr mampu meningkatkan aktivitas insulin dan juga konsentrasi Insulinlike Growth Factor (IGF) sehingga mampu mempertahankan konsentrasi glukosa dalam darah (Yang et al., 1996; Smith et al., 2008). untuk pembentukan propionat sehingga terjadi peningkatan efisiensi energi.

Three proteins possessing alkaline phosphatase activity were detected in a fraction of periplasmic material of Escherichia coli K-10 and its mutants with constitutive synthesis of alkaline phosphatase. They also showed acid phosphatase, pyrophosphatase and ATPase activities. Through the use of phosphatase-negative mutants it was shown that these proteins were the products of a single structural gene and therefore represented alkaline phosphatase isozymes. The numbers of enzyme isoforms and possibly the spectrum of their phosphohydrolase activities were controlled by exogenous orthophosphate and depended on the integrity of regulator genes for alkaline phosphatase.
