Steven Cushing, Fatal Words: Communication clashes and aircraft crashes. Chicago: University of Chicago Press, 1994. Pp. xiv, 162.

Abstract: sociolinguistics. Many readers may be surprised to see that some of these analysts ever had contact with others in this project, since their citations rarely make mention of the MAP or of the other participants. It is to be hoped that, with the publication of vol. 2, a younger generation of scholars will now be able to see the common threads of at least the American sociolinguistic agenda, and that the original hope of a unified framework will be to that small extent achieved.
