Steuerung der Aggregation von Mangankomplexen durch unterschiedliche Basen an den Beispielen [Mn(O2CCF3)2(py)4] und [Mn3(O2CCF3)6(benz)6]

Abstract: Influencing the Aggregation of Manganese Complexes by Different Bases: Formation of [Mn(O2CCF3)2(py)4] and [Mn3(O2CCF3)6(benz)6] Manganese powder reacts quantitatively with trifluoroacetic acid to yield Mn(O2CCF3)2 (1). The aggregation of 1 is directed by different N‐containing bases. Pyridine (py) forms the mono‐nuclear complex [Mn(O2CCF3)2(py)4] (2), while benzonitrile (benz) yields the trinuclear complex [Mn3(O2CCF3)6(benz)6] (3). The X‐ray structures of 2 and 3 are described.

“…On the other hand, the number of trinuclear Mn II complexes with bridging carboxylato groups is limited, and all of them present only these kinds of bridging ligands. Finally, although manganese(II)−carboxylate systems are usually polynuclear, few one-dimensional polymers have been described; examples are reported elsewhere. …”

“…The behavior of compounds from group 7 of the periodic table in carboxylate media has been most extensively studied for manganese. Carboxylates of Mn(II), Mn(III), and Mn(IV) have been previously reported. Based on manganese carboxylates, framework-type structures were obtained . Previously, carboxylate systems of Tc(VII) compounds were considered as electrolytes for metallic technetium coatings. The literature states that the electroreduction mechanism of pertechnetate anions results in the creation of Tc(IV) compounds. ,, However, isolating individual compounds and determining their structure were not studied.…”
