Status of experiments onPandTparity nonconservation at Novosibirsk

Abstract: We extend our previous formulation of low-energy QCD in terms of an effective lagrangean containing operators of dimensionality d ≤ 6 constructed with pseudoscalars and quark fields, describing physics below the scale of chiral symmetry breaking. We include in this paper the vector and axial-vector channels. We follow closely the Extended Chiral Quark Model approach and consistently work in the large-N c and leading log approximation and take into account the constraints from chiral symmetry and chiral symmetr… Show more

“…• The e + e − → π + π − π + π − final state was studied by the experiments OLYA [64], ND [51], CMD [65], DM1 [66,67], DM2 [58,59,60], CMD-2 [61] and SND [62]. The experiments agree reasonably well within their quoted uncertainties (see Fig.…”

“…• The cross sections of the six-pion final states 3π + 3π − and 2π + 2π − 2π 0 were measured by DM1 [70], CMD [65] and DM2 [71]. For the missing channel π + π − 4π 0 one can rely on isospin relations in order to estimate its contribution.…”

“…2) is the relaxation rate of atomic polarization. The zero-field resonances can be applied to low-field NMOR-magnetometry [3], with all of the advantages of the frequency-modulation technique as in the case of linear optical rotation [4,5].…”

“…In order to avoid such problems, a light frequency modulation technique was introduced in Refs. [4,5] and was applied to measurements of linear magneto-optical rotation and parity-violating optical rotation. This technique allowed detection of optical rotation at the light modulation frequency without introducing additional optical elements (such as a Faraday modulator) between the polarizer and analyzer, considerably reducing spurious rotations.…”
