State-Space Model of Quasi-Z-Source Inverter-PV Systems for Transient Dynamics Studies and Network Stability Assessment

Abstract: Photovoltaic (PV) power systems are increasingly being used as renewable power generation sources. Quasi-Z-source inverters (qZSI) are a recent, high-potential technology that can be used to integrate PV power systems into AC networks. Simultaneously, concerns regarding the stability of PV power systems are increasing. Converters reduce the damping of grid-connected converter systems, leading to instability. Several studies have analyzed the stability and dynamics of qZSI, although the characterization of qZSI… Show more

“…Peak current in each switch (3) I ph (4) /2 + (2I L (5) + ∆I L (6) )/3 (1) In [12] is incorrectly stated that the duty cycle variation of the ZSVM6 is constant. (2) This is considered the worst case (it varies from 2f sw to 6f sw due to the varying duration of active switching states). (3) In [12], the peak current in each switch is incorrectly defined for the ZSVM6 and SBMSV.…”

“…In order to achieve an effective qZSI performance control strategy, it is essential to develop a precise dynamic model of the system. Various mathematical models were introduced in the literature to analyze and optimize the performance of the overall system [2], [16]- [18]. Also, the feedback control strategies for qZSI have been the subject of investigation in several recent scholarly works [17], [19]- [24].…”

“…The commonly utilized SPWMs in this group are the simple boost control [4], the maximum boost control [4], and the maximum constant boost control [5]. The second group [6][7][8] comprises SPWMs which allow the D 0 value to vary regardless of the m a value as long as the D 0 value is lower than the maximum allowed, which is, in turn, defined by the applied m a value [5]. In [6], the ST state signal is generated based on the comparison of two dc reference signals (positive and negative) with the carrier signal.…”
