“…Over the 15 years we studied, the number of Chinese SOEs on the list increased over sixfold-from 15 to 93, and their share among all SOEs on the list increased from 23% to 66%. This conclusion is in line with the previous study on this topic (Kwiatkowski & Augustynowicz, 2015) and a recent IMF report ( 2020). An increase in the share of SOEs has not been recorded either in the group of other developing countries or in the group of developed countries.…”

“…The above‐mentioned publications do not show changes in the share of SOEs over the years. In this area, we can point to the research based on FG 500 lists, covering the years 2005–14 (Kwiatkowski & Augustynowicz, 2015). The results indicate that the share of SOEs in the analyzed categories (number, revenue, assets, employment) increased during the studied period, which the authors attribute mainly to economic growth in China coupled with the continued high share of SOEs in that economy.…”

“…This study used secondary data collected from the Thomson Reuters Eikon database, State-owned Enterprises in Indonesia, for a five-year period from 2017 to 2021. The reason for choosing a state-owned enterprise as the subject of investigation is that BUMN is one of the enterprise actors that play an important role in various functions, including (1) market function (economy), (2) control function, (3) development function, (4) ) ) social function, (5) strategic function, and (6) predator function [29].…”

“…In the economy, the Kaczyński regime prefers centralized regulation and state investment as the main vehicles of development instead of foreign direct investment, accompanied by economic xenophobia and gradually extending state control over some parts of the economy via "crawling renationalization" (Kozarzewski and Bałtowski 2019;Rohac 2018). On the other hand, there is no evidence to date that the PiS would seek to replace the economic elite, to expropriate, redistribute, and channel private property into its own fields of interest.…”
